therosedammit's Journal

It's the ROSE, dammit!
This is Omicheese's fic journal. I mostly just wanted the excuse to have "therosedammit" as a username. ^^; However, since I write a lot, and since Word documents are annoying and cumbersome and hard to send around, a fic journal seemed practical, and now I don't have to worry about anyone stealing my amazing idea before I got to use it myself.

As implied by the nature of a fic journal, I write fanfiction. Lately, I've written for Prince of Tennis, Tales of the Abyss, Bleach, and Axis Powers Hetalia, though I have also written for Kingdom Hearts, Fullmetal Alchemist, Weiß Kreuz, and Fushigi Yuugi, as well (a very, very long time ago). I have the potential to write for other things, it depends on what ideas I get when.

My fics tend to be mostly general. Occasionally there's a pairing involved, but I try not to do the standard romance thing. Also should be mentioned that I pretty much never write above PG-13, except for foul language, which doesn't count I swear.

I often try to make people laugh, even when something is serious. I can take it seriously when it needs to be serious, but it certainly doesn't have to be serious the whole way through, right?

As far as writing style, I have a bit of a problem remembering my audience and using a proper voice. I tend to write how the character would talk, albeit better thought out and more clearly. I'm working on it. I almost always write in third person point of view, past tense. My personal favorite is third limited, but omniscient works in certain situations. I wrote in second person once, which pretty much broke every rule I write by (present tense, run-on sentences, overuse of fragments, general confusingness), but it was actually pretty neat. About the only thing I won't do is first person. Whenever I try, it sounds cheesy.

Every once in a while I'll come up with something that isn't fanfiction, but don't count on it. I've got two stories cooking in my brain at the moment, one a historical fiction about pirates, the other a fantasy, but both are a long way off. I don't expect to put any real part of those (chapters or anything) up here once I'm working on them, either.
